All the glitter is not gold,
Our gold is not reality.
What we see, is not what is told,
So, this is our mentality.
See, we were born with the gifts,
We shine before the light,
Glaring as the sun hits,
We stomp the floor as we fight.
So march for the sake of the cause,
And for the sake of the night.
We slept through the revolution.
Now we can't tell one sight from the other
'cause the city's full of pollution.
So, we are lost within, one another'nother
One within, divided and conquered,
Living in sin, surrounded by demons.
Demons within, seen through the lies,
Plotting and scheming, for our self-demise.
Our lives are rotting and screaming
But, these eyes cry out, silently.
Violently erupting from our soul,
But quietly storming the threshold.
This mess holds up, to our discontent.
They circumvent our children to quit
Before they can even see in advance.
But, at a second glance, its a second chance.
So I tell them, my thoughts can't be broken.
They're open, cut-throating, and thought-provoking.
Have them choking on their words like smoke
And, just because we are soft spoken,
Doesn't mean we can't be evoking
On your heart to be token.
